9th Annual Beth C. Wright Ride for Life
September 7th, 2013 - Blue Hill Peninsula - Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center
The 9th Annual Beth C. Wright Ride For Life, starting at the Surry Elementary School will be held on Saturday September 7th. The Ride For Life benefits the programs of the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. This year there will be an 8 mile ride, 20 mile ride, 50 mile ride and 100 mile ride, so there is a ride for every bicycle riders' ability level, and each ride has a great view of the Maine coast.
The Ride For Life provides critical funding for the free services, support, and programs offered to cancer survivors, their family and friends by the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. 100% of funds raised from the Ride for Life will stay in Hancock and Washington counties.
There will be plenty of comfort stations, fruit, water and other refreshments along the routes. Each pre-registered rider gets a free t-shirt, free BBQ after the Ride, and there will be musical entertainment from 11:00am - 2:00pm. The route is well-marked with signs at each turn, and our communications network allows us to keep track of all the riders out on the course. We expect all rides to be completed by 4:00pm.
This year we will be giving special recognition to teams of riders that raise at least $500.00. In addition, the team that collects the largest amount of money will be treated to a meal catered by the Ride For Life planning committee. Please think about forming a team and then asking your friends and neighbors to pledge money to the Beth C. Wright Center to show their support for you and the Center.
